Insurance Fraud and Claim Investigation

J. C. Owens is experienced in the investigation of life. health, including travel claims (baggage and personal effects losses, trip interruption, physical damage/loss insurance, personal liability insurance, and medical expenses) for principals worldwide. We help insurers, HMOs, and travel insurance companies in resolving claims (determining the facts about the claim) in such areas as:

  • • Life, Health, and Medical Expenses Claims
  • We have uncovered fraudulent life insurance claims and accidental death claims in such countries as Russia, India, Haiti, Ghana, Colombia, Sierra Leone, Cote d’Ivoire, Liberia, Bangladesh, Egypt, Guinea, Niger Republic, Uganda, Belgium, Zimbabwe, Angola, Democratic Republic of Congo, Republic of Congo, Nigeria, Afghanistan, South Africa, China, Cameroon, Tanzania, Zambia, Kenya, Brazil, et al. They were claims for payment of ‘benefits’ ranging from US$25,000.00 to US$9.8 million filed with insurance companies, credit card companies and travel insurance companies in the United States, Canada, Europe, and the Middle East.

Out of thousands of health insurance claims and medical expenses claims investigated around the world for principals in the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia and the Middle East since 1986, we have found only nine (9) genuine and authentic claims. The rest have been fraudulent claims contrived alone by the policyholders/claimants (25%) or by them in connivance with providers such as physicians and medical personnel (75%).

  • • Travel Claims (Baggage and personal effects, trip interruption, rental car physical damage/loss, personal liability insurance, et al)
  • • Workers Compensation Claims
  • Since 1986 to date, we have helped several hundreds of companies including many of Fortune’s Global 500 resolve thousands of such claims as listed above in Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, the Caribbean, the Middle East, Central America, and South America. Some of these claims have been resolved merely by reviewing and evaluating the claims documents without resort to on-the-spot investigations.
